The stone house and outbuildings, grouped around a 'Bawn', were standing on this site 200 years ago.
Builder John Cleary renovated the derelict buildings in 1993, using local craftsmen, drawing on his rare sensitivity for the vernacular architecture of his native South Wexford.

In 1997 as an accomplished potter of many years experience, I established the Potters Yard to produce Slipware and to teach my craft to others.

Since moving to Wexford our family have acquired a Kerry cow called 'Venus', her calf 'Mars' - born at the Potters Yard in May 2001, a donkey 'Egypt', 'Bashful', the not so bashful collie, and an assortment of geese, hens, and cats.

We all welcome you and we hope you will enjoy creating and relaxing at our atmospheric home.

Established with a grant from Wexford Enterprise Board
